Peace Lily

The Peace Lily, scientifically known as Spathiphyllum, is a graceful and evergreen plant cherished for its glossy, dark green leaves and elegant white flowers. Its botanical name, Spathiphyllum, is derived from the Greek words “spatha” (meaning spathe) and “phyllon” (meaning leaf), referring to the characteristic spathe-like bract that surrounds the flower cluster. The Peace Lily’s blooms exude purity and simplicity, making it a popular choice for weddings, sympathy arrangements, and everyday decor. Native to tropical regions of the Americas and Southeast Asia, this resilient plant thrives in low-light conditions and is renowned for its air-purifying properties.

Keep the soil consistently moist but not waterlogged. Water your Peace Lily when the top inch of soil feels dry to the touch, and allow any excess water to drain away freely. Avoid overwatering, as this can lead to root rot. Brown tips on the leaves may indicate both overwatering and underwatering, so adjust watering habits accordingly.

Peace Lilies thrive in high humidity environments. Increase humidity by misting the leaves regularly, using a humidifier, or placing the plant on a tray filled with pebbles and water. Adequate humidity levels will help prevent leaf browning and promote healthy growth.
